Alpha Dawg Comedy Show

Before I left on vacation a long time ago, a friend of mine invited me to a comedy show he produced and was performing in at a local sports tavern in the suburbs of Chicagoland. It was an entertaining night full of roaring laughs and witty mockery.  The night was hosted by Charlie Stone, a curly haired hilarious up-and-coming comic squeezing in his own routine of his perception on gender differences, suggestions on professions, and racial slurs. Presenting after the host was Abi Sanchez who had amusing anecdotes of dating while living with his mother. Next on stage was Isaiah Ambrosini a hysterical comedian who filled in for Demetrio Johnson and spoke about growing up with family. Long awaited by the whole show was my friend and featured funny man of the night Salty Peters stirring the crowd with his sarcasm and his side-splitting parody of a song from the Wizard of Oz. Ending the show was headliner Xavier Lamont, a rather tall comedian carrying a drink in one hand and a microphone in the other as he recounted events that had irked him that everyone can amusingly relate to. This pack was hilarious and kept the night rocking even after the show.

A month later he produced another show under the same name with some new faces on the stage. Hosting the night was Mike Maxwell, local talent and sarcastic jokester sharing his sharp political humor to open up for featured performers. First in line for the night was Calvin Evans, an alternative comedian with experience in short skits and stand-up, who took the crowd to another level with local humor only city dwellers would understand. Following act was by a white-haired wisecrack (literally) named Sadiq Samani telling stories about battling cultural norms and poking fun at some of the audience. And finally an unexpected headliner of the night, a teacher from South Chicago, Nate Weatherup who joked about the kids in his classroom and how he deals with the pressures of being a teacher. With the uproarious lineup feeding the crowd jokes all night, it turned out to be another successful show full of laughter.
